Gatwick Airport Parking
Driving to London Gatwick is the most flexible way to start a trip, especially with children, luggage or an early flight. APH sells parking at ten Gatwick car parks, including two we run ourselves, and the comparison below shows live prices, transfer times and customer ratings for all of them side by side.
APH is a listed approved operator under London Gatwick's Approved Operators Scheme, and we have been parking cars for UK travellers since 1980.
- Listed as an approved operator on London Gatwick's Approved Operators Scheme, which requires every car storage site to be declared, British Parking Association approval, and Trading Standards Buy With Confidence membership
- Two car parks of our own at Gatwick, staffed 24 hours a day, with free shuttles every 10-15 minutes
- Each year we help 300,000 customers park at UK airports
- Winner, British Travel Awards Best Company for Airport Parking
- Independently reviewed on Reviews.io - the live score and review count are shown further down this page
- Free cancellation on flexible rates. Discounted rates (Supersaver, Advanced Purchase and Non-Flexible) cannot be cancelled or amended - the rate type is shown before you pay
Compare Gatwick Airport parking options
There are four ways to park at Gatwick, and the right one depends on how long you are away and how much walking or waiting you are willing to do.
- Off-airport park and ride is the lowest-priced option for stays of a week or more. You park a few miles from the airport and take a free shuttle to the terminal.
- Off-airport self park works the same way, but you park your own car and keep your keys.
- Meet and greet costs more and saves the most time. You drive to the terminal forecourt, hand over the keys and walk straight to check-in.
- On-airport Short Stay and Long Stay are London Gatwick's own car parks, inside the airport perimeter, paid for by ticket on exit.

Getting to the APH Gatwick car park
Our own park and ride and self park sites share one entrance.
Address for sat nav: Copthorne Road, Crawley RH10 3PD
From the M23 at Junction 10, take the East Grinstead exit:
- Travelling southbound, take the 1st exit at the roundabout onto the A264, Copthorne Way
- Travelling northbound, take the 3rd exit at the roundabout onto the A264, Copthorne Way
- Continue straight over the next roundabout, taking the 2nd exit
- At the following roundabout, take the 4th exit onto the A2220, signposted Maidenbower
- Continue along the A2220, following signs for the APH Parking Centre
- Drive past the Texaco petrol station. Some sat navs stop you here, so keep going
- After about 0.25 miles, turn right into Crawley Garden Centre
- Look for the APH entrance sign on your right and follow the internal signage to check-in
What happens when you arrive
- Drive up to the automated barrier. It will raise for you on arrival
- Follow the road markings to the arrival bays and park
- Come inside to reception with your keys and flight details
- A member of staff checks you in. On park and ride, we then park your car for you. On self park, you park it yourself and keep your keys
- Board the shuttle for the transfer to your terminal, which takes around 10-12 minutes
Shuttles run every 10-15 minutes, 24 hours a day, and the site is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Allow enough time for check-in here as well as at the airport.
What happens when you get back
- After landing, go to the APH shuttle stop just outside your terminal
- Take the shuttle back to the car park
- Call at reception to collect your keys
- Your car is ready for you to drive away
Security at the APH Gatwick car park
The site has CCTV monitoring, gated entry and exit, regular patrols and staff on site around the clock. Security arrangements at the partner car parks we sell differ from ours, and each one is described on its own car park page.
APH is one of five operators listed on London Gatwick's Approved Operators Scheme. To be listed, an operator must declare every site where customer cars are stored, hold British Parking Association approval and belong to the Trading Standards Buy With Confidence scheme.
How does off-airport park and ride work?
Park and ride is usually the lowest-priced way to park at Gatwick for a week or more. The car parks sit a few miles from the airport and run free shuttles to both terminals.
Drive to the car park → check in at reception → board the shuttle to your terminal → enjoy your trip → take the shuttle back and collect your keys on return

| Car Park | Transfer Time | Distance to Airport | Your Keys | Shuttle Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| APH Park & Ride | 10-12 minutes | Approx. 5 miles | Left at reception, car parked for you | Every 10-15 minutes, 24 hours |
| APH Self Park | 10-12 minutes | Approx. 5 miles | You keep them | Every 10-15 minutes, 24 hours |
| Airparks Gatwick Park & Ride | 10-12 minutes | Approx. 5 miles | Left at reception | See car park page |
| Cophall Parking | 10-15 minutes | Approx. 5.5 miles | Left at reception | See car park page |
Weekly prices change daily, so compare the live rates in the table above rather than relying on a fixed ranking. The cheapest car park on one set of dates is often not the cheapest on another.
How does on-airport Short Stay and Long Stay parking work?
Short Stay and Long Stay are London Gatwick's own car parks, inside the airport perimeter. Both work on a pay-by-ticket basis and neither has to be booked in advance, although the airport charges less if you do book ahead. Current drive-up prices for each on-airport car park are published on London Gatwick's own roll-up prices page, which is the only place they can be relied on as up-to-date.
Short Stay
Drive to your terminal and follow signs to the Short Stay multi-storey next to the terminal building. Take a ticket at the barrier, park, and walk across to the terminal. Keep your keys and keep the ticket safe. On your return, pay at one of the machines and drive out. Short Stay is the most expensive way to park at Gatwick for anything longer than a few hours.

Long Stay
Long Stay works the same way but with a shuttle. Follow signs to the Long Stay car park, take a ticket at the barrier, park, and take the shuttle to the terminal, which takes around 10 minutes. On your return, take the shuttle back, pay at the machine, and collect your car.
Long Stay is also where free drop-off and pick-up happens at Gatwick: the first two hours are free, with the shuttle included. See the drop-off question in the FAQs below.
On-airport or off-airport?
On-airport suits you if you want to stay inside the perimeter, are travelling for a day or two, or have not booked anything and are driving up on the day. Off-airport suits you if you are away for a week or more, want a confirmed booking at a fixed price, or would rather keep your keys. The transfer times are similar: around 10 minutes from the airport's Long Stay car park, and 10-12 minutes from ours.
How does meet and greet parking work?
You drive to the terminal forecourt, hand your keys to the operator, and walk to check-in, around two minutes away. Your car is driven to a parking compound for the duration of your trip and brought back to the terminal for your return.

APH and I Love Meet & Greet are both listed as approved operators on London Gatwick's Approved Operators Scheme. The other meet and greet products in our comparison are not on that list, so compare their own security and insurance details on each car park page before booking.
London Gatwick also publishes a checklist for choosing a meet and greet operator safely. We would add one practical step to it: photograph your car and your mileage before you hand the keys over. It takes a minute, and it settles any question later.
How to get cheaper parking at Gatwick
We sell several Gatwick parking products rather than one, so there is usually a cheaper option than the obvious one. Our own APH Park & Ride and APH Self Park are often, though not always, the best value.
Robert Monks, our Contact Centre Manager, takes customer calls about Gatwick parking every day. His tips:
"When you're looking at your parking options, most people only look at the parking options on-site - but you can often end up paying less if you consider the off-site parking options too as they come with more competitive rates. You should always try to book your parking in advance (ideally, when you book your trip!) as you can snag early bird discounts and guarantee a space - this is especially handy during peak periods, such as school holidays. If you're going on a longer trip, looking into extended stay packages or park-and-fly hotel deals can help you save even more money per trip."

1. Book as far ahead as you can. Gatwick parking is priced dynamically, in the same way as flights and hotels. Advance rates are consistently lower than drive-up rates, and the gap is widest over school holidays, when the cheapest car parks also sell out. Booking when you book the trip costs nothing extra and can be cancelled on a flexible rate.
2. Compare off-airport as well as on-airport. Off-airport park and ride is usually cheaper than the airport's own Long Stay for a week or more, and the transfer times are close. Use the comparison at the top of this page on your actual dates rather than assuming.
3. Consider a hotel and parking package for an early flight. If your flight is before about 7 am, a night at the airport plus parking often costs less than parking alone plus a 3 am start, and it is always more pleasant. See Gatwick hotel and parking packages.
4. Join the mailing list. We send deals and offers, with an instant 10% discount when you sign up. Enter your email address below to claim it.
Do you offer parking for both terminals?
Yes. Gatwick has two terminals, North and South, and both have Short Stay and Long Stay parking of their own.
The off-airport car parks, including APH Park & Ride, APH Self Park and Airparks Park & Ride, serve both terminals. Our shuttles run every 10-15 minutes and take 10-12 minutes to either terminal, so you do not need to choose a terminal-specific product.
For meet and greet, you do need to select the product for your departure terminal, because the driver meets you on that terminal's forecourt. Check your terminal on your airline booking before you book parking. If your flight changes terminal after you have booked, call us and we will move the booking.
If you need to move between terminals after arriving, the inter-terminal shuttle runs around the clock and takes about two minutes.
Hotel and parking packages at Gatwick
A night at the airport before an early flight is often cheaper as a hotel and parking package than booking a room and parking separately.
Some hotels are next to the terminal, such as the Hampton by Hilton. Others are a few miles out, such as the Felbridge Hotel, and can be combined with our own park and ride or self park sites down the road.

Gatwick parking frequently asked questions
How much does parking at Gatwick cost?
Prices change daily and depend on your dates, how far ahead you book and the car park, so the live prices in the comparison at the top of this page are the only reliable figures. As a guide, off-airport park and ride is the lowest-priced option for a week or more and meet and greet is the most expensive. Drive-up prices for London Gatwick's own Short Stay and Long Stay car parks are published on the airport's roll-up prices page, and are always higher than the equivalent pre-booked rate.
Where should I park at Gatwick?
For a holiday of a week or more, off-airport park and ride is usually the best value, and our own APH Park & Ride and APH Self Park sites are five miles from the airport with shuttles every 10-15 minutes. If you would rather not wait for a bus, meet and greet puts you two minutes from check-in for a higher price. For a trip of a day or two, London Gatwick's own Short Stay car park next to the terminal may work out simplest.
Can I cancel or amend my Gatwick parking booking?
It depends on the rate you book. APH Park & Ride, APH Self Park, Airparks Self Park and Airparks Park & Ride bookings can be amended at any time before your arrival time. APH Meet & Greet Forecourt, I Love Meet & Greet and ACE Meet & Greet allow free amendments up to 24 hours before travel. Discounted rates - Non-Flexible, Supersaver and Advanced Purchase - cannot be cancelled or amended at all. The rate type is shown before you pay, and the full details are in our terms and conditions. To change a booking, log in to your account or contact our team.
Do I leave my keys?
It depends on the product. On APH Park & Ride, you leave your keys at reception, and our staff parks your car. On APH Self Park, you park your own car and keep your keys with you. On meet and greet, you hand your keys to the driver at the terminal. In London Gatwick's own Short Stay and Long Stay car parks, you always keep your keys.
How long should I allow at the car park before my flight?
Allow time for check-in at the car park as well as the transfer itself. At our Gatwick site, shuttles leave every 10-15 minutes, and the journey takes 10-12 minutes, so plan on being at the car park in good time before the check-in time on your airline booking rather than arriving to catch a specific bus. If you are running late, call the car park and tell them.
What happens if I arrive earlier or later than planned?
If you arrive early, most of our car parks can take you, but call the car park first so they can expect you. If your return is delayed, any extra charge is at the car park's discretion and is paid at the car park, so check that car park's terms when you book. Our own Gatwick site is staffed 24 hours a day, so a late-night or delayed return is not a problem.
Can I just turn up without booking?
At London Gatwick's own Short Stay and Long Stay car parks, yes - they are pay-by-ticket and need no booking, though the drive-up price is higher than the pre-booked one. Off-airport park and ride, self park and meet and greet all need to be booked in advance, because your space is allocated to you.
How do the Gatwick drop-off charges work?
London Gatwick charges a minimum of £10 to use the designated drop-off zones outside the North and South Terminals. The charge must be paid by midnight the day after you use the zone, or you will be issued a Parking Charge Notice, so pay it before you fly or set up an account with the airport. Dropping off is free in the Long Stay car parks instead: take a ticket at the barrier, park in a bay, and passengers take the free shuttle to the terminal while the driver exits on the same ticket. There is no charge if the car is there for less than two hours, and the same applies to pick-up. Charges and payment methods are set by the airport, not by APH, and are published on London Gatwick's drop-off charges page.
How do I get between the North and South Terminals?
The inter-terminal shuttle runs around the clock, every few minutes, and takes about two minutes.
Is there disabled parking at Gatwick?
Our APH Gatwick car parks have designated Blue Badge spaces, and our team can help you pick the most accessible option for your needs - speak to our customer service team before booking. Blue Badge concessions in the airport's own car parks and exemptions from the drop-off charge are set by London Gatwick and are published on the airport's website, so check there for the current position.
Can I reserve a specific parking space?
No. Spaces within each car park are first come, first served, but you will always get the car park and the type of parking you paid for.
Do you offer EV charging at Gatwick?
Yes. APH Park & Ride with EV charging is a separate product in the comparison above, priced higher than standard park and ride. You check in as normal and take the shuttle to the terminal, and your car is charged while you are away so it is ready when you return. Book the EV product specifically if you want this - an EV parked on a standard booking will not be charged.
How do I extend my parking?
Contact the car park where your car is and ask to extend. Overstay charges normally apply and are set by the car park, so check at the time of booking or when you ask.
How do I book parking at Gatwick?
Enter your dates at the top of this page, compare the options on price, transfer time and rating, and book with your personal and payment details through our secure payment system. You will get a confirmation email with directions to the car park and your booking reference. If anything is wrong with it, contact our team or log in to your account.

"The second time we have used APH. Really quick service both ends. No queuing no waiting for buses on our departure. On our return we just missed a bus as we just exited the terminal. By the time we got to the bus stop we only had to wait about 5 mins and another one turned up. All drivers and staff friendly and professional. Will definitely use them again. Thank you!"
