All about Bristol Airport

Located around eight miles from Bristol, the airport is built on the site of a former RAF airfield and opened its runways for the first time in 1957. Originally known as Bristol (Lulgate), it changed to Bristol International from 1997 – 2010, before settling on its current name. It’s the UK’s 9th busiest airport and hosts airlines such as easyJet, Ryanair and BMI Regional. The popular airport has seen impressive rises in passenger numbers from 1,614,837 in 1997 to 7,603,890 in 2016. Amsterdam is the busiest destination, followed by Dublin and Edinburgh.

Getting There

Bristol Airport parking products offered by APH are either on-airport, meet and greet or just a five-minute transfer from the terminal. Simply select your parking product, enter the postcode and you’ll be heading for the check-in desks within minutes.

Bristol Airport does not have a pharmacy, so please ensure you arrive fully stocked with any medication required for your trip. Superdrug is available for those buying baby milk.

Bristol Airport is easily accessed from the M4 and M5. On the M5, take junction 22 when heading North and junction 18 when heading South. On the M4, take junction 20 onto the M5 and take junction 18. Choose the post code BS48 3DY when using satnav.
