Transfers to and from London City Airport

There's no need for transfer buses as it's just a short walk to the terminal building.


Butterfly Meet & Greet uses mature and insured drivers who will transfer your car to a nearby secure compound. Your car will be parked in an underground car park that features hourly patrols, entry and exit barriers and CCTV.

Disabled Facilities

On arrival, disabled passengers can use the designated disabled bays in the Terminal Car Park, located close to the terminal building. Meet and greet is the ideal service for anyone with mobility issues.

Opening Times

The car park operates throughout the year except for the 25th and 26th of December and New Year’s Day. Normal opening hours are:

Monday to Friday: 05:00am - 10:00pm

Saturday: 05:00am - 01:00pm

Sunday: 11:00am - 10:00pm

For the next 4 weeks there will be heavy diversions around the London City Airport vicinity. Diversions are clearly marked and will clearly direct you to the Car Park and Pick Up Zones.
Please allow plenty of additional time as part of your journey as traffic build ups may very well occur.

There is a 25 minute wait time allowed in the Terminal Car Park and customers have to pay £7.50 to exit.

From Royal Docks Road:

  1. Take the second exit on the oval roundabout onto Royal Albert Way.
  2. Head along the A1020 and take the second exit at the Royal Albert Roundabout.
  3. On the next roundabout, take the first exit across Connaught Bridge.
  4. Take the first exit on the roundabout and the second exit on the next.
  5. Take the first left onto Hartmann Road and just down the road the Terminal Car Parks will be on your left.
  6. Follow the signs for the Long Stay Car Park. 

Arrival Procedure

Using Butterfly Meet & Greet is easy;

  1. Call Butterfly Parking 20 minutes before you arrive at the airport.
  2. Once you’re at the airport, drive to the Long Stay Car Park.
  3. Use the barrier on the right and take a ticket. Drive into the car park and park your car.
  4. You’ll be met by a Butterfly driver who’ll collect your keys and car park ticket.
  5. The terminal building is then just under a 5 minute walk away.

Please ensure you allow sufficient time to complete the vehicle hand over before heading to the terminal.

Return Procedure

Collecting your car is simple:

  1. Once you’ve landed and collected your luggage, call Butterfly Meet & Greet.
  2. Head to the Long Stay Car Park where a Butterfly driver will meet you with your car.
  3. You’ll also be given a ticket to exit the car park – you will have to pay a £7.50 exit fee.

We made our booking through the Aph website for 4.30am. We were not told that both the airport and the office open at 5.00am. As a consequence we incurred extra parking charges because we arrived for 4.30am and Butterfly could not be contacted. We received an e-mail fro Butterfly informing us that our booking time had been changed to 5.00am at 14.00pm, seven hours after we left the airport.
