Q: Do I have to print my confirmation?

You don’t have to print your confirmation if you don’t want to. However, we recommend that you read all of the information on your confirmation in advance as it does contain a lot of very useful information regarding your booking. You will need to bring a copy of your confirmation when you arrive; this can be a print out or on your mobile.

Q: What happens if my return flight is delayed?

Don’t worry if your return flight is delayed, When you make your booking we recommend you enter your return flight time. This is because most parking providers, particularly those located off airport and Meet & Greet services, will be monitoring flights so they will be aware of any delays. These car parks tend to charge per day – so providing your flight delay doesn’t extend your stay beyond your pre-booked return date then you shouldn’t be charged any extra. If you are going to be delayed for an extended period then it is worth contacting your Car Park directly on the number provided on your confirmation or receipt given at check-in. Car Parks located on-airport are usually unmanned so you will not contact them to inform them of any delay, however, your entry and exit will be recorded by the barrier systems and, in general, they will allow you around three hours leeway over your original pre-booked entry and exit time before they charge any additional fees.rnrnAll additional fees for delayed returns are payable directly to the service provider and rates will vary. IF you require further information on overstay charges please contact your parking service provider on the number given on your confirmation. It is important for you to also remember that a parking booking cannot be extended with us once the booking has started, for any queries regarding extra time and charges at your carpark please call the carpark directly.

Question 1

For my return time when making a booking, should I give my landing time or estimated pick up time?

When making your parking booking, we suggest that you provide your flight landing time. When you make a booking with APH we ask for your inbound flight number, if you have it, as most car parks will monitor your flight to ensure your vehicle will be ready upon your return. Carparks know how long it usually takes for you to return to collect your car once your flight has landed so you don&rsquo;t have to guess.rnrnIf you are not certain of your flight landing time when you are ready to make your parking booking don&rsquo;t worry, you can provide us with an approximation and then simply update it before you travel using our Manage my Booking function.

Question 2

I want to book Meet & Greet but I am returning to a different terminal, can I still book?

Of course, you can still book! however make sure you chose one of our Meet & Greet services which are not terminal specific. If a service only operates from one terminal, then this will be clearly stated on the details you see when you get a quote. When you are making your meet and greet booking online, just be sure to enter your full flight details and state which terminals you are returning to and the car park will be made aware. You can of course also remind your driver that you will be returning to a different terminal when you drop the vehicle as well.

Why do you need to know the number of passengers?

Carparks use this information to help plan when organising the number of people who need transferring from the carpark to the airport. Some carparks also have a maximum number of passengers per vehicle who they can transfer, so this information is needed to govern whether they can accept some bookings.rnrnIf the carpark you are looking at does not state anything about there being a maximum number of passengers per vehicle, do not worry! We will make you aware, where ever we can, that there is a maximum in place.

Question 5

I don't have my vehicle/flight details - can I still book?

Of course you can still book! The flight and vehicle details are not mandatory when making a booking with us, simply press the &lsquo;not known&rsquo; toggle when it comes to that part of the booking form. It is recommended though that you should update your booking with these at a later date, as this helps the carpark plan for your arrival and return.

What is the difference between flex, non-flex, super saver, mystery etc?

We understand that these different terms can be very confusing that&rsquo;s why if a car park or Hotel has several different options available we present details of these next to the price to help you make your choice.rnrnIn general most of our products are flexible or &lsquo;flex&rsquo; which means you can amend or cancel them under our standard T&rsquo;s and C&rsquo;s (link). Non-flex, super savers, mystery products are usually cheaper but, once booked, you cannot amend or cancel the booking.

How much time should I allow for dropping off my car and getting to the Airport?

As a rule of thumb, if the car park you have booked includes transfer to the airport, you should plan to get  to the car park at least 30 minutes before you want to arrive at the airport to allow for check-in and transfers, however transfer times do vary and you should check your confirmation carefully to ensure you leave sufficient time. If you have booked a car park which is located within walking distance, or you have booked a Meet & Greet service then you do not need to allow as much time.rnrnOn your confirmation, you will have the full information regarding the arrival procedure and how long it takes to get to the airport from your chosen carpark. Make sure you read this before setting off and plan accordingly, as we would not like you to miss your flight.

Question 9

Can I book short notice?

You can book certain carparks at short notice. This differs between all of our carparks as to whether or not they will accept the booking at short notice or not, this rule is decided by them.rnrnWe can only accept bookings within the hour for our own carparks, however, we won&rsquo;t be able to accept any bookings which are due to commence in less than an hour after you complete your booking. rnrnTo check all availability for a short notice booking, simply get a quote and all of the options shown will be able to let you park with them.

Question 10

Who is responsible if my vehicle gets damaged?

Any damage claims must be directed to your parking service provider. When submitting a damage claim, You must inspect the vehicle and report any damage to us on a report form before driving out of the car park at the end of the parking period. Claims cannot be considered once vehicles have left the premises so please check your car before leaving or in the case of our Meet and Greet service driven away after the driver has handed over the keys. Once your damage complaint has been submitted, the service provider will then investigate who is responsible for the damage on your vehicle and then proceed to rectify the matter privately with you.

Why do you need my car details?

If we have the correct car details to send to the carpark, this speeds up the process when you arrive at your carpark. It is especially important for us to have your car registration number for carparks which use ANPR(Automatic number plate recognition). Details of whether a car park used ANPR can be found in the more information for each car park when you make a quote. Having the correct car details at these car parks will mean you can access easily.rnrnDon&rsquo;t worry if you don&rsquo;t know what vehicle you will be bringing when you are booking, simply tick &lsquo;not known&rsquo; for now and worry about this after you have booked. We recommend all customers to update their booking with their car details before travelling and not to leave this blank.

Question 12

Why am I being charged for 8/15 days when my trip is for 7 or 14 nights?

Most airport parking is charged per day, rather than per 24-hour period. So, if you leave on a Monday and return the following Monday, your price will include both the Mondays. So, while you are away for 7 nights, you are actually in the car park well into the 8th day.rnrnSome on-airport car parks do charge per 24-hour time period or part thereof, which means you may only be charged for 7 x 24-hour periods depending on the time of entry and exit. Should your actual entry and exit times change from those that you have booked, this may result in your actual time in the car park exceeding the number of days you have pre-paid for (or decreasing). This may result in an additional charge, which will be levied by the car park upon exit. If you call us before you leave we can add this to your credit card.

Question 13

I was charged upon exiting the car park but I have already pre-booked and paid. What should I do?

If you were charged upon exit, please keep all of your receipts and any tickets which you were issued at the carpark and contact us via email at customerservices@aph.com.rnrnWhen you email us please explain what exactly has happened and email a copy of all the receipts and details of your booking. Once we have all of this information, we will investigate fully and resolve this matter for you.

Question 14

I am travelling with a baby - do I need a baby seat for the transfer?

When you are travelling with a baby, you do not have to bring a baby seat for the transfer. This is entirely up to you.rnrnIf you are travelling with children and a lot of luggage, in our experience we have always found that a Meet and Greet would be more suitable for your needs.

Can I just show up at the car park?

Most of the car parks we offer will accept customers who just turn up without pre-booking but the cost will be much higher. Pre-booking your parking can save you up to 60% compared to on the day parking charges.

Question 16

What happens if I return early/late?

Try not to worry about this when you are travelling, If you are delayed on your return to the UK then there may be an additional charge levied at the car park on your return. If you are worried about this additional cost, then please call the car park directly and they will be able to let you know what this cost will be.rnrnIf you need to return early from your trip you should contact your car park as soon as you know your travel details so they can ensure your vehicle is ready for your return (this only applies to Park & Ride or Meet & Greet services where you have not parked your vehicle yourself). Unfortunately we are unable to refund any unused portion of your booking once it has commenced.

Can we transfer between different airports?

Unfortunately, none of the products we offer allows for a pickup or drop-off to a different airport. If this is something you require, we would recommend you look at alternative airport transport options such as the Coach services or National Rail.

Question 18

How are the car park prices calculated?

Car parking prices are worked out either on a 24-hour basis or at a daily rate basis, this is specific to each carpark. As a general rule car parks that are located on airport usually charge on a 24-hour basis, those that are located off airport, or Meet and Greet services tend to charge per day. When you enter your dates and times to get your price we do the hard bit when calculating your price as the carparks would like us to, so that when you get your quote the price you see is the correct rate for your Requirements &ndash; you can then simply compare the overall prices and service provided to ensure you choose the right product for you.

What does valet mean?

Valet parking is a term that is sometimes used for Meet & Greet Parking where cars are dropped off and returned to a specific location and then parked by the service provider for the duration of the trip. Occasionally the term Valet is also used in describing a level of car cleaning which may be available as an upgrade to standard parking. Please check the description of the parking service you are looking to purchase carefully to ensure it meets your requirements.

Are personal items in my car secure?

All personal items which you leave in your car are at your own risk. We recommend you always keep all your personal or valuable items with you when going on holiday, as carparks will not take responsibility for any theft loss or damage to any personal property or loose items left within a vehicle whilst it is parked.

Why does the price keep changing?

You may notice our prices changing online if you receive a quote and return at a later date or time to repeat the same quote again. This is because our prices are retrieved from our live reservations system which is continually checking with all our suppliers to ensure we have the most up to date pricing for you.

Do I need to tell you when I land?

When making a booking, you can enter your flight landing time or the time you anticipate to be back to the carpark by. It is preferred that you give your flight landing time, as this helps carparks plan better for your return.rnrnIf you give your flight time as your return time, don&rsquo;t worry if you know you won't be back at the carpark at this time. Carparks are well aware of how long it takes you to get through security and back to their site after landing and will always factor this in so you don&rsquo;t have to panic!rnrnSome car parks will request that you inform them when you land but full details of their returns procedures will be issued when you check in.

How do I upgrade to a Meet & Greet or a Hotel Package?

If you are interested in booking a Meet & Greet or a Hotel Package you may have to cancel your existing booking and rebook your new service. Do I need to notify you if my flights change?

Can I have my confirmation on my phone?

If you prefer to bring your confirmation on your phone, that is not a problem. We recommend you always bring a printed copy of your confirmation as all of the details of your booking are handy to have on you.rnrnIn our 39 years of experience, we have found the confirmation to be especially useful for customers who are driving and are trying to find their carpark. On your confirmation we include comprehensive directions to the location of your car park or hotel as Satnavs are not always accurate and getting lost is the last thing you want to be worrying about when catching your flight.

What if I change my car?

If you change your car, that is not a problem! We recommend that you make us aware of this change before you arrive at your carpark. You can do this by visiting Manage My Booking online and making the change to your Car Details.rnrnThis way you won't be delayed on your arrival, meaning you can park quicker and start your holiday sooner.rnrnIf you have last-minute change, and are unable to inform us before your arrival using Manage My Booking, then don&rsquo;t worry - there is no need to make a new booking. Simply leave a little extra time and, if you have booked Park & Ride, let the Receptionist know on arrival or press the intercom at the barrier and someone will help you enter the car park. If you have booked a Meet & Greet then call your provider on the number on your confirmation to inform them, so they know to look out for a different car.

What is a Parkmark award?

A Park Mark Award certifies a car parks Safer Parking status. It is only awarded to parking facilities that have met the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the police. It is part of a wider scheme called The Park Mark&reg; Safer Parking Scheme, which is a Police Crime Prevention Initiative (Police-CPI) and is aimed at reducing both crime and the fear of crime in parking facilities.rnrnWhen booking your parking it is worth looking out for this Award for extra peace of mind.

Do you sell motorbike parking?

What is ANPR?

ANPR stands for Automatic Number Plate Recognition system. This is commonly used at a lot of self-parking facilities and is used to verify whether or not you have reserved a space. This is done by cross-referencing the registration picked up by the camera against what the carpark has in their booking system.rnrnWhen you arrive at a carpark which uses ANPR, simply pull forward to the barrier and it will raise for you. If you change your vehicle it is important to let us know because this could cause delays when attempting to enter the car park. If the barrier does not raise, don&rsquo;t panic, just simply press for assistance and someone will give you a hand letting you in.

Does my vehicle need to be taxed and have an MOT? What if either has expired?

You need to have an MOT and valid road tax on your vehicle before you hand it over to us. This includes if it is due to expire whilst it is in our care, carparks reserve the right to refuse entry to any customers if their vehicle is not taxed or does not have a valid MOT.

Is there a minimum stay/minimum charge?

Prices for parking vary throughout the year and, at times, some car parks will charge a minimum charge or only offer parking if you are staying over a minimum length of time. As we operate a live booking system (where we are constantly checking all our service providers for their pricing and availability) it is not possible for us to provide information on minimum stays or charges before you make a quote. However once you have entered the dates and times you require we will only provide you with a choice of car parks which are actually available for you to book and any minimum charges will be reflected in the price quoted.

My vehicle is already parked but I need to amend my return date. What should I do?

If you wish to amend your return date, but your vehicle is already parked, contact your carpark directly and they will be able to help you with this.rnrnUnfortunately, we cannot amend any bookings once the parking has commenced.

Question 36

How do I get to and from the airport?

Most parking services require you to take a transfer service to the airport or terminal building. They are usually included in the cost of your parking and full details for each car park can be found when you make a quote. If the car park is located very close to the terminal, or is a Meet & Greet service then it will generally be just a short walk to the terminal.
