Which car parks APH operates, and which are run by partners

This is worth knowing before you book, because it determines whose staff handle your car and whose terms apply.

  • Products listed under the APH name - APH Park & Ride, APH Self Park and APH Meet & Greet - are operated by APH at our own facilities, with our own staff and our own vehicles.
  • Products listed under another brand - including Airparks, NCP, NCP Scotpark, Secure Airparks, Ace Meet & Greet, I Love Meet & Greet and Maple Manor - are operated by those companies. APH books them on your behalf as an agent, and that operator’s terms apply to your booking.

The operator is named on every product before you book, and the cancellation and amendment terms shown at checkout are the ones that apply. Full booking conditions are set out in our terms and conditions.

Choosing between park and ride, meet and greet and on-airport parking

Most of the decision comes down to how much you want to pay for the walk to check-in.

  • Park & Ride - you park off-airport and a shuttle takes you to the terminal. Usually the cheapest option. Allow time for the transfer and for the shuttle to arrive.
  • Meet & Greet - you drive to the terminal, hand your keys to a vetted driver and walk straight to check-in. The quickest option, and usually the most expensive.
  • On-airport self park - you park in an airport-owned car park and walk, or take a short internal transfer. Convenience sits between the two above, and so does the price at most airports.
  • Off-airport self park - you park and keep your keys, with a shuttle to the terminal. Useful if you would rather nobody else drove your car.

As a rule of thumb, allow your airline’s recommended check-in time plus 20 to 30 minutes for parking, key handover and the transfer. Allow longer during school holidays and at peak morning departure times, when both the car park and the roads around the airport are busiest.

Your airport parking deals in detail

Gatwick Airport parking

APH Gatwick Park & Ride operates from a purpose-built facility opened in 2018, a few minutes’ drive from the terminals. It is APH-owned and APH-staffed. Alongside it you can book three terminal-based meet and greet services: APH Meet & Greet Forecourt, Ace Meet & Greet and I Love Meet & Greet, where a vetted and insured driver takes your car from the forecourt.

If you are using a meet and greet service at Gatwick, check whether the forecourt drop-off charge is included in your booking. Gatwick charges £10 for the first 10 minutes, then £1 per minute to a maximum stay of 30 minutes, capped at £30 per day. Some operators pay this on your behalf, and some do not - the product terms shown at checkout will say which.

Heathrow Airport parking

Heathrow is the UK’s busiest airport, and its parking is spread across four passenger terminals. Because terminal allocation decides which car parks are practical, select your terminal in the booking form before you compare - an on-airport car park at the wrong terminal can mean a longer internal transfer than an off-airport park and ride.

Off-airport park and ride, on-airport parking and meet and greet are all available, with the APH discount already applied. Full comparison: Heathrow airport parking discount codes.

Manchester Airport parking

The APH Manchester Park & Ride site is APH-operated and around 10 minutes from the terminals by shuttle. Manchester has three terminals with separate approach roads, so check which terminal you are flying from before booking - it affects your transfer and the time you should allow.

Birmingham Airport parking

Birmingham has the widest choice of any airport on this page. APH-operated options are APH Birmingham Park & Ride and APH Self Park, where you keep your own keys. Partner-operated options are Airparks Park & Ride, NCP Long Stay, NCP Short Stay and Valet Parking Meet & Greet.

Because several of these look similar on price, compare the transfer arrangement rather than the headline rate: self park keeps your keys with you, park and ride does not always, and meet and greet removes the transfer entirely.

Stansted Airport parking

Stansted is a single-terminal airport, which keeps the choice simple: meet and greet for a terminal handover, or park and ride for the lower price. The £16.00 saving in the table above is the largest on this page, because meet and greet carries the highest base price and the discount is proportional.

Luton Airport parking

Luton sits just off junction 10 of the M1. APH Park & Ride, other off-airport options, and meet and greet are all available. Luton’s terminal approach is a single road that congests at peak departure times, so if you are on an early morning flight, build in more than the usual 20 to 30 minutes.

Edinburgh Airport parking

Edinburgh is a few miles west of the city centre, reached from the M8 and M9. Park and ride is available from APH, NCP Scotpark and Secure Airparks; meet and greet from Ace and Maple Manor. At £60.49 before discount, the Edinburgh example in the table is the lowest-priced in this comparison.

Airport parking discount codes: FAQs

Do I need a promo code to get the APH discount?
No. The discount is applied automatically to the prices shown when you book through this page or the booking form above. There is no code to enter and no voucher to download.

Does the 10% apply at every airport and to every product?
The saving is up to 10%, not a flat 10% on everything. How much comes off depends on the airport, the product and your travel dates. The table above shows six worked examples, where the saving ranged from £6.05 to £16.00 per booking. The booking form shows the discounted price for your own dates before you commit.

Does the discount expire, or can I combine it with another offer?
The saving is built into the price rather than issued as a time-limited voucher, so there is no expiry date to watch and nothing to combine. Prices themselves do move with demand and availability, so booking earlier generally costs less than booking late.

Which car parks does APH operate itself?
Products named APH - APH Park & Ride, APH Self Park and APH Meet & Greet - are operated by APH with our own staff. Products under other brands, such as Airparks, NCP, Ace, I Love Meet & Greet, Secure Airparks and Maple Manor, are operated by those companies and booked through APH as an agent. The operator is named on every product before you book, and that operator’s terms apply.

What is the difference between park and ride and meet and greet?
With park and ride, you park off-airport and take a shuttle to the terminal, which is usually the cheaper option. With meet and greet, you drive to the terminal and hand your keys to a vetted driver, then walk straight to check-in. Transfer times vary by airport, so check the individual airport page for the one you are flying from.

How much extra time should I allow?
Allow your airline’s recommended check-in time plus 20 to 30 minutes for parking, key handover and the transfer to the terminal. Allow longer during school holidays, at peak morning departure times and if you are travelling on a day with known roadworks near the airport.

Are airport drop-off charges included in meet and greet bookings?
It depends on the operator and the airport, so check the product terms at checkout. As an example, Gatwick charges £10 for the first 10 minutes in its drop-off zones, then £1 per minute up to a 30-minute maximum stay, capped at £30 per day. Some meet and greet operators pay this on your behalf; others do not. Other airports set their own charges.

What are the cancellation rules?
Cancellation terms are set by the operator and vary by product, so the terms shown during booking are the ones that apply to you. As a general pattern, APH Park & Ride can usually be cancelled or changed before the parking period begins, while several meet and greet products require changes at least 24 hours before. Check before you book if flexibility matters.

My airport is not in the table - can I still book?
The “Find your airport” table above lists all 17 UK airports we cover, including Glasgow, Newcastle, Exeter and Southampton. If your airport is not listed there, we do not currently book parking at it.
