Directions

  1. Exit the M1 or A42 onto the A453.
  2. Follow the road until you reach the main entrance to the airport.
  3. Turn right into the airport. At the roundabout take your first exit.
  4. At the second and third roundabout, go straight on.
  5. The entrance to Mid Stay 1 will be on your right.

Arrival instructions

Using Mid Stay 1 is simple:

  1. Mid Stay is a popular choice with limited availability, so book your parking in advance to reserve your space.
  2. On the day, simply drive up to the car park barrier, and our ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) system will recognise your car's number plate and open the barrier. There's no need to take a token.
  3. Find a space and park up, then walk to the terminal. There's no need to wait for a bus.
  4. On your return, walk back to the car park and find your car right where you left it. When you drive up to the barrier it'll recognise your number plate again and you can drive away.

Please ensure you allow time to park your car and make your way into the airport terminal.

Return instructions

Collecting your car is just as simple:

  1. Walk back to the car park.
  2. Load your car.
  3. Approach the exit barrier and wait for it to automatically rise.

  • All vehicles must be roadworthy and hold a valid MOT.

Security

East Midlands Airport Mid Stay 1 has 24/7 CCTV, regular security patrols, also entry and exit barriers for controlled access.

Disabled facilities

A fully accessible transfer bus is available to take you from the car park to the terminal, free of charge.

Vehicle restrictions

  • Standard cars that fit within a 2.4m x 4.8m bay are accepted.

  • Motorhomes, camper vans, lorries, caravans, trailers and oversized vehicles are not permitted in Mid Stay 1.

  • A grace period of up to 6 hours is allowed. After this, an overstay charge of £20.00 per day will apply.

Terms and Conditions

  1. This car park is Semi-Flexible:
    1. Need to Change Your Plans?
      • If your booking is due to start within 4 days of your booking date then unfortunately, once booked, you will not be able to cancel or amend your booking, and it will be non-refundable.
        If you are booking further in advance you can cancel or amend your booking up to 4 days before your parking period begins without any charges.
    2. Parking Period:
      • Your parking period starts at 12:01 AM on the first day of your booked dates, regardless of your pre-booked arrival time.
    3. Important to Note:
      • If you don’t cancel or update your booking at least 4 days before your parking period begins, we’ll need to charge you for the full booking. Also, please be aware that we can’t offer refunds if you return earlier than planned.
    4. Booking Adjustments:
      • If you make changes to your booking and the price changes, we’ll either charge or refund the difference based on the adjustments.
