Directions

East Midlands Airport is easily accessible from both the M1 or A42. Once you’ve finally moved onto the A453, it’s just a matter of following the signs to the airport. On your route, you will find signs for Long Stay Car Parks. The detailed directions below clearly describe how to reach the car park.

  1. Exit the M1 or A42 onto the A453.
  2. Follow the road until you reach the main entrance to the airport.
  3. Turn right into the airport. At the first roundabout, take the first exit.
  4. Carry straight on at the next roundabout, and take the first exit at the third roundabout.
  5. Go straight on at the fourth roundabout and follow the road until you reach a junction. Long Stay 2 is located on your right.

Arrival instructions

Once you arrive at the car park:

  1. As you approach the parking entry barrier, our number plate recognition cameras will scan your car's registration and grant you access into the car park.
  2. Find a parking space in an open zone and head over to a nearby bus shelter where a shuttle bus will come every 15 minutes.

Please ensure you allow sufficient time park your vehicle and complete the airport transfer.

Return instructions

On your return:

  1. Head to the bus stop and take the bus back to Long Stay 2
  2. Collect your car from where you parked it before.
  3. Drive to the exit barrier where your number plate will be recognised and the barrier will rise.

Please ensure you read the important information below to help make your journey as smooth as possible.

  • All vehicles must be roadworthy and hold a valid MOT.

  • Vehicles must fit within a standard parking bay.

  • Trailers are not permitted.

Security

East Midlands Long Stay 2 car park is manned 24 hours a day with an entrance and exit barrier.

Disabled facilities

The car park provides clearly identifiable Blue Badge bays for easier access. These bays are positioned for convenience, helping customers with reduced mobility enjoy a smoother start to their journey.

Vehicle restrictions

  • Standard cars that fit within a 2.4m x 4.8m bay and are under 2.0m in height are permitted.

  • Motorhomes, camper vans, lorries, caravans, trailers and oversized vehicles are not allowed in Long Stay 2.

  • A grace period of up to 6 hours is included.

  • An overstay charge of £20.00 per day applies once the grace period has been exceeded.
