Directions

Thanks to this car park’s onsite location, it is incredibly easy to locate when taking the official route to the airport. When you exit the M1 and make your approach to East Midlands Airport, you will begin to see signs for ‘Other Car Parks,’ and then ‘Short Stay Three.’ Our detailed directions below should help you easily find the car park.

  1. Exit the M1 or A42 onto the A453.
  2. Follow the road until you reach the main entrance to the airport.
  3. Turn right into the airport. At the roundabout, take the first exit .
  4. Carry on following the road and at the third roundabout take the first exit (left) and turn left again into the Short Stay 3 car park.

Arrival instructions

Dropping your car off couldn’t be easier:

  1. Short Stay is a popular choice with limited availability, so book your parking in advance to reserve your space.
  2. On the day, simply drive up to the car park barrier, and our ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) system will recognise your car's number plate and open the barrier. There's no need to take a token.
  3. Find a space and park up, then walk the short distance to the terminal building.

Please ensure you allow time to park your car and make your way into the airport terminal.

Return instructions

  1. Walk back to the car park and locate your vehicle exactly where you left it.
  2. Drive to the exit barrier, which will recognise your number plate automatically.
  3. Once the barrier lifts, you can leave the car park and continue your journey.

  • All vehicles must be roadworthy and hold a valid MOT.

Security

When you leave your vehicle behind before a trip overseas, there’s no need to worry about how secure it will be in your absence. Short Stay 3 combines a number of security measures to ensure that all vehicles are protected at all times. For example, it’s not possible to enter the vicinity unless your vehicle is registered beforehand. The electronic barriers will only lift if your number plate is known to them, thanks to ANPR technology. On top of this, the premises are watched by CCTV cameras, to monitor all activity on-site. 

Disabled facilities

For those who have a Blue Badge permit, there are disability parking spaces available. These are clearly signposted and are located next to the customer entrance and exit to make life as easy as possible before your flight. However, these are limited and subject to a first-come-first-serve policy.

Vehicle restrictions

  • Standard cars must fit within a 2.4m x 4.8m parking bay.

  • Motorhomes, camper vans, lorries, caravans, trailers and oversized vehicles are not permitted.

  • A grace period of up to 6 hours is allowed. After this, an overstay charge of £20.00 per day applies.

Terms and Conditions

    1. Need to Change Your Plans?
      • If your booking is due to start within 4 days of your booking date then unfortunately, once booked, you will not be able to cancel or amend your booking, and it will be non-refundable.
        If you are booking further in advance you can cancel or amend your booking up to 4 days before your parking period begins without any charges.
    2. Parking Period:
      • Your parking period starts at 12:01 AM on the first day of your booked dates, regardless of your pre-booked arrival time.
    3. Important to Note:
      • If you don’t cancel or update your booking at least 4 days before your parking period begins, we’ll need to charge you for the full booking. Also, please be aware that we can’t offer refunds if you return earlier than planned.
    4. Booking Adjustments:
      • If you make changes to your booking and the price changes, we’ll either charge or refund the difference based on the adjustments.
