Park Mark Safer Parking Award – Why It’s So Important

We know that vehicle security is of utmost importance to our customers, whether they are booking port parking, cruise terminal parking or airport parking.

The Park Mark Safer Parking scheme is a Police Crime Prevention Initiative designed to reduce both crime and the fear of crime in car parks across the UK. Parking facilities that meet the scheme’s standards of security, maintenance, and management are accredited with a recognisable award.

Opt for off-port

The most economical type of parking at a ferry or cruise terminal is off-port. This means your vehicle will be parked in a car park a short distance away from the port, with transfers provided between car park and ferry or cruise terminal.

At Southampton, we offer secure off-port parking with our partners Cruise Parking, Southampton Port, which provides on-demand transfers. The journey to the port takes 15 minutes.

Parking Types

There are different types of parking to suit the varied requirements of ferry and cruise passengers. Here’s a quick overview of the types of port parking you might come across when planning your trips.

On-port parking: How it works

Usually the closet type of parking to the terminal, on-port parking, such as Triangle Car Park & Transfer, Southampton Port, refers to car parks that are situated within the port boundaries.

Just follow the signs to the port and the car park that you have booked, park your car, unload your bags, and take the short bus transfer to the ferry or cruise terminal.

On your return you take the short bus ride back to the car park to collect your car.

Here's a quick overview of how on-port parking works.

Best for: those preferring to park as close as possible to the terminal.

Off-port parking: How it works

Usually the most economical parking option, off-port car parks, such as Cruise Parking, Southampton Port, are located away from the port – but still within easy striking distance. Once you have parked your car, you simply unload your luggage and take the free shuttle bus transfer to the cruise or ferry terminal.

Book your off-port Southampton cruise parking with APH and you can be assured of 24-hour security for your vehicle while you are away.

When you return from your trip, follow the signs to the car park transfer buses and take the short ride back to the car park to collect your car.
