Save on costs of travelling with children this summer with Airport Parking & HotelsThe summer holiday is fast approaching and with it the financial and emotional stress of travelling with the family. Airport Parking and Hotels, the long stay parking specialist, has created a comprehensive list outlining the costs of travelling with infants and children on its website www.aph.com. Importantly, the list shows how to avoid unnecessary costs and aggravation. The table compares nine major airlines and highlights any extra expenses, providing additional information for passengers travelling with children and forms part of the company’s extensive ‘Know Before You Go’ section. British Airways proved themselves to be particularly child-friendly, offering a new family online check-in as well as no charge to travel with a pushchair and car seat. In addition they also offer infants a baggage allowance of 23kg. Ryanair on the other hand is the only airline to charge an additional £4.00 per person to check-in at the airport along with an extra £6.00 to check-in a car seat. BMI, XL Airways, First Choice, Thomas Cook and Thomsonfly airlines do not offer an online check-in service for families. Research also found that all the airlines, with the exception of Ryanair and Easyjet, can provide children’s meals at no additional cost; however these need to be ordered in advance. Similarly, all airlines except Ryanair and Easyjet, offer in-flight entertainment packs and television programmes all suitable for children.
