There is a vacancy for a temporary Copywriter within the Marketing team. Working in a busy department, this role focuses on re-writing product descriptions and copy for our new web platform including all car park, hotel, lounge and travel extras information.

Reporting directly to the APH Head of Marketing and Content Editor, duties include:

  • Writing and proofing web content for our websites
  • Ensure content is factually correct and has accurate spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Ensure content follows house style
  • Ensure content is consistent across each of the APH platforms
  • Ensuring that content is fit for purpose – be it engaging, attention grabbing, informative or call to action.

Requirements

  1. Ideally degree educated or equivalent.
  2. Outstanding written and spoken English skills.
  3. Excellent proofing skills.
  4. Work under pressure, adhering to tight deadlines and showing initiative.
  5. Self-motivated and highly organised.
  6. An enthusiastic and flexible attitude.
  7. Strong attention to detail.
  8. A positive and helpful attitude, able to work to precise briefs
  9. Ideally previous experience as a Content/ Copy Writer
  10. Must have own transport due to location as this position is office based.

The Role
APH Ltd, a leading UK Airport Parking & Hotel Consolidator based close to Gatwick Airport, are seeking a Web developer with strong skills and experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, and MySQL to work in our growing development team.

We’d be expecting you to…
• Design, build and maintain bespoke object-orientated PHP applications
• Update and improve existing internal applications
• Building great, readable and well-documented code with an eye for QA
• Maintain up-to-date specification and technical documentation for each application
• Integrate with various third-party APIs to further enhance applications
• Perform research and development tasks
• Be able to communicate to other team members who aren’t technically focused
• Contribute ideas and solutions to the team

Your Experience…
• 3+ years full time experience in a backend development role working within a LAMP stack environment
• Complete knowledge of HTML, CSS
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript
• Knowledge of the JavaScript frameworks (preferably jQuery)
• Good understanding of JSON, XML and APIs
• Working with version control (we use SVN)
• Knowledge of database and application optimisation for better performance
