Maybe because it was a Sunday, but there was some consternation when the barrier, which according to the instructions should have recognised the vehicle and lifted, remained closed until an attandant arrived to operate it. in these circumstances, which inevitably creates a queue of clients, each of whom will suspect I will have erred in some way, there might be a more obvious method of communication at the barrier.
All in all, and appreciating security and perhaps demand necessitated a change in the old style of meet-m-greet APH driver at a flagged point outside the terminal we've always think that was the best.
