For countries that require vehicles to carry reflective jackets, these need to be stored within reach of the driver and must be worn day or night when exiting the vehicle on the hard shoulder or in the event of breakdown.

Travellers from the UK should carry the following documents when driving abroad:

  • Proof of insurance
  • Proof of ID
  • Proof of ownership
  • A GB sticker or GB initials on the vehicle’s registration plates is required
