Glacier at Tracy Arm, Alaska

Almost inaccessible in places, Alaska’s vast and untamed wilderness lends itself perfectly to sea exploration. There are more than 100,000 glaciers in Alaska, along with epic mountains, seascapes and amazing wildlife to spot.

You can reach Alaska via boat from Seattle or Vancouver for a shorter sea voyage, but setting off from San Francisco gives you the opportunity to explore one of Americas most exciting cities, so make sure you tack on a few extra days to take a trolley ride, tour Alcatraz and bike across the golden gate bridge.
