Got a long-haul flight with kids coming up? Why not grab a stack of the most-wanted reads for kids this Christmas?
David Walliams’ Bad Dad has been announced as the top book that kids hope to find under the tree this Christmas.
The best seller about a father and son who go on a mission to break an innocent man into prison was rated as the most-desired kids’ book this Christmas in a survey of 1,000 UK children aged between eight and twelve.
Kid Normal by Greg James, Time Travelling with a Hamster by Ross Welford and Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae also made the top five.

When asked what they like most about receiving books at Christmas time, nearly half the children surveyed said it was just because they simply ‘love to read’.
Nearly four in ten children said it is because ‘books are entertaining’, and a third of children revealed that ‘reading together with their family’ was what they liked most.
The research also revealed that two thirds of parents in the UK claim that their kids read the same, if not more, than they did at their age, suggesting that despite today’s children being known as the ‘YouTube generation’, reading is still an important pastime that brings families together.
