Best for families: Holiday Inn Express

The 3-star Holiday Inn Express is handily located for Heathrow; its less than 15 minutes door to door so a night here is a great idea if you’re travelling with your loved ones but don’t want to blow the budget before you hit foreign shores.

Family rooms are available and sleep up to 4, all rooms have free Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs with pay per view movies, tea and coffee making facilities and an en-suite bathrooms complete with a glorious power shower; just what you need to get the family going in the early hours.

On-site there are two restaurants to choose from, Great Room Bar & Lounge serves up classic British dishes; if you fancy something a little more continental, make your way to Tratts Restaurant for freshly made pizza and pasta dishes.

Best restaurant: Radisson BLU Edwardian

After dinner, set your course for Bijou Bar where a huge chandelier presides over events. Feel yourself getting more glamorous, as you lounge with a glass of champagne or a refreshing Martini.

If your tastes are a little more exotic, why not sample the treats on offer at Annayu Restaurant, the latest addition to the hotel; which serves up freshly made Indian cuisine.

If you’re flying from Terminal 5, you’d be hard pressed to beat the location of Sofitel Heathrow. Connected to T5 by a covered walkway, you can quite literally fall out of bed and into check-out; perfect if you have a crack of dawn start or want a low hassle start to your day.
