Overall a good experience, the only issue we had was on our exit, our ticket was not recognised and it took some time for the issue to be resolved.

On arrival at car park barrier did not open and there was no reply when I pressed buzzer for assistance. I had to take a ticket so that barrier would open.

I couldn´t really rate staff friendliness (because there was no human contact), or transfer service, because I used the car park within walking distance of the terminal buildings; hence median scores for each of those.
Better lighting and clearer directional signage would help with finding a parked car. You tend to remember your parking location in relation to Departures and can easily be disorientated when returning via the Arrivals area in the dark.
Early booking fails to achieve a nearer space. For the 2nd time, I ended up in a remote, overspill space but that problem exists at all airports. It´s down to luck on the day.
Current roadworks and resulting detoursfrom the normal approach roads are problematic and the temporary airport signs are completely inadequate.

Car park 1 parking can be close to the terminals, OR, as in my case, ( having driven around for several minutes ) a good distance away. Thankfully it was fine weather and I was not in a hurry but it's a long drag with a suitcase even if you're fit. It would be impossible for the old or frail and there should be a prominent warning about the possible distance and the time needed, : on the website.

The car park was a long way from the departure building and was almost full. The only space we could find was at the far end and the road surface was poor making it difficult to push the luggage trolley.
To reach the departure building you have to cross a busy road and as my wife and I are both in our late 70ies this was a most unpleasant experiance. it would be awfull in wet weather.
In contrast your Birmingham car park which we have used many times is excellent and transfer to the airport swift and comfortable.

Only negative is that the barrier never seems to recognize our numberplate so there is a delay on exiting as we have a ticket which displays a fee to pay so have to press the cntact button and wait!

I thought the cost of parking was high compared to, for example, Liverpool airport. I will take this into consideration when next deciding which airport to use.
