Shortage of spaces when we arrived although there was a notice at the entrance permitting use of disabled car parking spaces which we did.

When we returned home the parking meter rejected our ticket which has happened to us before on several occasions although we had booked and pre-paid in advance. The machine indicated we owed another £7 we were due back 12.30 am and it was 11.45 pm. The intercom was not working and we had a 2 year old child with us. An alternative intercom was used and eventually someone answered and the barrier was raised for us to egress.

The only thing that let the service down was the transfer bus. It didn't have the capacity to pick up passengers at all the bus stops and when its cold, wet, and windy outside it seems like an eternity when you're waiting for the next bus. I may also be unnecessarily concerned about health & safety but in my opinion the number of people standing should be limited, not to cram as many as possible from the back of the bus to just behind the driver as what happens currently.
My comments are not intended to create a negative picture of this invaluable service of which I fully appreciate.

The gate did NOT open automatically on arrival - we had to contact them. On being let in the large car park was virtually full - we drove round and round to try and find a space. There were no people around at all. The car park spaces were so narrow even getting passengers out was difficult - let alone luggage. An experience not to be repeated!

I have used the Meet and Greet service at Stansted Airport and it is far superior to the one at East Midlands. At Stansted, we drove our car to a designated place in one of the car parks, handed our keys over to a representative who gave us a ticket and that's it. However, at East Midlands we had to wait to be told where to park our car, once parked we had to walk over to an office (with luggage) and queue to hand over our keys. The return at East Midlands entailed collecting our keys from the office and then finding our car in the car park. However, we were given the location of the vehicle which was fine. At Stansted, we phoned APH after coming through customs and by the time we exited the terminal building, our car was waiting for us outside.

Parking upon arrival was very slow due to big queue of cars waiting to get in to carpark. Some were getting impatient and beeping their horns. There was only one attendant greeting motorists & he seemed to chat to people for an excessively long time before directing them to their space. Also having him write reg and mileage on little ticket was time-consuming & unnecessary. As a customer i just assume you are NOT going to be driving my car around while I am out of the country.
