Glasgow Airport launches holidaymakers’ summer guide

Glasgow Airport has unveiled its comprehensive 2011 Summer Flight Guide which includes details on five new routes and extra flights to another 13 destinations.
Tens of thousands of copies of the guide are being sent out to travel agents, supermarkets and direct to households throughout the West of Scotland.

Besides addition to flight information, it will present holidaymakers with a detailed overview of the airport’s extensive facilities, including its new and rather contemporary food hall.
Some of of the highlights include Thomson’s new direct flight to Cape Verde in West Africa, while Thomas Cook has given confirmation that it will fly to Izmir, Turkey and Kefalonia, Greece. Royal Caribbean has announced a new flight to Venice and Jet2.com, which only arrived at Glasgow Airport this March, will fly to Nice as well as six other popular sun spots.

A number of the airport’s longer standing airline partners like easyJet, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and US Airways, have boosted their capacity on a number of routes, and from September 2011 Icelandair will fly direct from Glasgow to Iceland.

Amanda McMillan, the MD of Glasgow Airport, said: “We’re looking forward to what promises to be a busy summer period and the addition of five new routes is fantastic news for the airport as it help strengthens our offering to passengers.
“Our airline partners have responded to an increase in passenger demand by adding extra capacity on 13 popular routes and our new flight guide will provide customers with a full run down on all of our destinations, as well as an overview of our retail offering, car parking facilities and bars and restaurants.”
