New daily service to Dresden

2010-05-18

People who need to travel to Dresden or the wider Saxony region for business or pleasure will now be able to enjoy a new, convenient daily service from London Heathrow to Dresdsen. The daily flights are operated by the German airline Lufthansa and bear the flight number LH4767. “It is a new daily non-stop flight from London Heathrow to Dresden, capital city of the German federal state of Saxony. The new Lufthansa flight started from 19 April. Tickets to Dresden are available from £89 return including taxes and charges,” explained a spokesperson for the airline. Though they emphasised that this excludes any excluding agency booking fees.

The flights will be made using a modern and luxurious Airbus A319, which will be operated by British Midland (BMI), which is a part of the Lufthansa Alliance. The spokesperson added: “If it’s BMI on the outside, it’s Lufthansa on the inside: from the Airbus’s 138 comfortable seats to the onboard catering. The flight leaves Heathrow at 12:35 daily and, after a flight time of around two hours, lands in Dresden at 15:30 local time. The return flight from Dresden leaves at 16:05 local time and lands in Heathrow at 17:05.”

Dresden is often described as Germany’s ‘Florence on the Elbe’.
