The Airbus is getting everywhere, it seems. Egyptair has just received its first Airbus A330-300 and Manchester Airport has just received its first incoming Airbus A380, the largest commercial airliner in the world.

It can seat 517 passengers in its two decks of accommodation. The 517-seat double-decker plane, The flight, Emirates EK017, flew in from Dubai just before 12.30.

It is something of a red letter day for Manchester Airport as it is the first regional airport in the entire world to have a daily A380 service. Seasoned travellers will be aware that the jet has alreadu being flying into London Heathrow since 2008.

Officials at Manchester Airport expected “thousands of people” would turn up to watch the Airbus 380 land for the first time. And the good citizens of Manchester and the North West region did not let them down. For indeed, thousands of people did arrive at the airport to watch the apparently effortless landing of this gigantic passenger plane.

Manchester Airport has invested over £10m in less than two years upgrading its facilities to accommodate the A380.
