APH Resort Guides at a Glance:
Sundance, Utah
Overview
This small, romantic resort, located about 40-minutes’ drive from Park City, is owned by Hollywood legend Robert Redford.
There’s skiing to suit all abilities, and the cute little wood cottages are perfect for couples who aren’t after busy nightlife.
Terrain
The runs are spread over Mt. Timpanogos, with the lower part being more intermediate/easy, the upper slopes are more difficult,
with one chair being dedicated to black runs.
Recommended run
Experts should try Bishop’s Bowl - a stretch of double-black diamond that feels like it goes on forever.
For easier stuff, take the Arrowhead lift and try Bearclaw and Amy’s Ridge.
Ski-in, ski-out?
You’re never far from the slopes here. Gorgeous little wood lodges give this place an old-fashioned Western atmosphere that you don’t
get at the other resorts in the area. The scenery is breathtaking.
Cost of living
You’re more isolated here, so there’s less choice for eating out and it’s more expensive. You must book a table at
Foundry Grill, and make sure you try the Tree Room - beautiful old fashioned wood walls, fabulous food - and a huge tree growing through the middle.
Nightlife
Pretty quiet. It’s all about romantic meals, and early nights.
Alternative activities
Head to the nearby cross country ski area, where you’ll find around 15 miles of immaculately groomed trails to suit all abilities.
There’s some great snowshoeing here, too.
Family friendly
Not a great resort to bring youngsters.
