APH Resort Guides at a Glance:
Marble Mountain, Canada

Overview
Located on the island of Newfoundland, off the Canadian east coast. It may be small, but this place has a reputation for getting a lot of snow - plus it’s only around five hours’ flight from the UK. Just down the road is Humber Valley Resort, which has gorgeous condominiums and tons to do.

Terrain
There are 35 runs to choose from - including a terrain park. While the pisted slopes are not the most challenging in the world, you’re slap bang in the middle of Gros Morne National Park, which has some fantastic backcountry.

Recommended run
Try the Corkscrew run, with its blend of tight turns and high speed sections. All the runs are easily accessed from the base station, so if you’re in a group, you can all ski different slopes without losing each other.

Ski-in, ski-out?
Yes, if you stay at the Marble Villa. However, we’d recommend a luxury condo at nearby Humber Valley Resort www.experiencehumbervalley.co.uk which is excellent value for money. It’s 15-minutes away but there are free resort transfers.

Cost of living
Canada is always good value for money. Expect to pay around £5-£6 for a lunchtime burger and fries, and £8 for an evening meal.

Nightlife
Apres drinks start at the base lodge; Cornerbrook is where all the clubs and bars are at. If you’re looking to go dancing try Limelight; it’ll be you and the locals. If you don’t fancy the 20-minute drive from Humber Valley Resort, you could always stay in and watch a movie, in your own private screening room.

Alternative activities
There’s lots to do away from the slopes. Snowshoeing, helicopter tours, sledging, snowmobiling - and lounging in your own hot tub.

Family friendly
Humber Valley Resort has great facilities for youngsters, including guided snowshoe tours. Ski school is also good here, with small groups guaranteeing lots of attention to detail.
