The APH staff watched us unpack our luggage from our car and carry it into the booking office. They then took our vehicle details with our "flight ready" packed down and bagged cycles in full view along side us. Only when the car checking in was complete that the APH staff informed us that they would not carry our bagged cycle luggage. We then had a mad rush to transfer the luggage to the airport by car before driving back to APH and leaving our vehicle at the car park. We then jumped on their half empty bus which could have easily carried our baggage. We were informed that the APH small print says they do not carry cycles in their buses. Funny that as APH web site says in very large print - " Take a ‘Brake’ from Expensive Bike Baggage Costs with Airport Parking and Hotels (APH). With many holiday firms reporting a 10% – 40% increase in bicycle bookings*, partly thanks to the success of Team GB in the Olympics and major events such as the Tour de France, Airport Parking and Hotels (APH) is helping keen cyclists avoid expensive costs when travelling abroad by comparing bike baggage costs on airlines". What hypocrisy!!!!

On arrival at the check in to leave my car the lady wore a friendly smile and was helpful. When we came back from our trip to Newcastle however I had to stand on the bus as there wasn't enough seating. The bus driver was quite sullen when I asked for help to load my case in the caged area on the bus and never even spoke to me. It was a large case and weighed the full 20k and I am not as strong as I used to be because I am 68. This is the first time this has happened so I hope it doesn't occur again. I was a little surprised at the attitude because it has always been a pleasant experience with your company who often have quite sociable drivers. By the way, when I phoned your office to alert you of our return nobody answered the phone and I rang several times.
