Low comments are made on the receptionist you said we could not have a transfer to the hotel at 4am as they already had 8 people. I had rung the day before and they said that they didnt do advance bookings but it would be fine. We had to go for 4 30 instead only to find there were more than 8 people so they had ordered us a taxi. Why couldn't the reception do that for 4am?
On arrival the receptionist informed us that as their booking system was down, they had to relocate us to another hotel. We could not park at the other hotel and had to resort to changing our clothes in the toilets so that we had the minimum amount of luggage that was to be left at reception in the other hotel. We would normally had made a fuss, but
We used this hotel for an overnight stay as we had an early flight to Genoa the following day. We also parked our car here for the duration of the holiday. Nice hotel with good rooms and a relaxing bar / restaurant area. The food served, whilst not having any "wow" factor was perfectly acceptable. Service at the table was very good. Only drawback related to finding a car parking space upon arrival - this hotel / car parking facility is very popular! Shuttle bus service excellent -upon arrival back at Gatwick the driver (who had just started to take other passengers back to the hotel) reacted immediately to our phone call request for a pick-up at the North terminal.
The hotel was easy to find and in easy reach of the airport by their minibus. Not under the flight path so very quiet. It has on site secure parking. The room was basic but very clean. The restaurant served a nice breakfast, we didn't have evening meal although the menu looked nice.
Hotel lived up to it's good reviews and deserved reputation. The rooms could do with some minor updating but that should take nothing away from the overall stay. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food was excellent. All in all a good way to start a holiday.
