There are a few things that are reserved for the rich and famous; private jets, huge yachts and glittering film premieres amongst them; but these days VIP airport lounges don’t need to be one of them!
If you’re getting ready to jet set off on an exciting adventure, don’t kill your holiday buzz before you’ve even got going! We come over all claustrophobic at the thought of the crowded departure lounge, heady with the scent of burnt paninis and cheap duty free perfume; so follow those in the know and book yourself into a VIP airport lounge and save yourself from the crowded chaos.
Heathrow has a few of these ‘common use’ lounges, open to everyone and available to pre-book; they come with a wide range of features, like Wi-Fi, free newspapers and more importantly, a large helping of peace and quiet; some even have spas, cinemas and free food on offer.
We thought we’d give you the low down on Heathrow Airport lounges so that you can enjoy your pre-flight down time and make the most of lounging!
Heathrow top pick!
No 1 Traveller, Terminal 3
- No 1 Traveller Lounge Heathrow
- Games Room
Our favourite at Heathrow; if you’re flying from Terminal 3 you’d be mad not to book yourself a spot in this haven of tranquillity! As soon as you step inside the cool and calming space, you are greeted by panoramic views of the runway. The lounge is bright and airy and there is ample seating so you can relax and take the weight off your feet as you enjoy some VIP service.
One of the best things about the lounge is that food and drink is complimentary; early birds can enjoy waffles or eggs for breakfast, and if you arrive after 11am then a freshly made pitta or pasta is on offer. There is also a well-stocked pantry table where you can graze all day on soups, salads, fresh fruit, cakes and biscuits.
If you’re feeling particularly peckish, you can choose to pay a little extra and enjoy something a little more substantial from the A La Carte menu. Soft drinks and most alcoholic drinks are on the house; champagne, sparkling wines and cocktails are extra and start at £6.00 for a glass of Prosecco.
There’s no chance of being bored while at the lounge as there’s acres of entertainment to while away the hours. Take full advantage of the free Wi-Fi, relax with a blockbuster in the cinema, get active in the games room, enjoy some quiet time in the special family room or simply sink into a comfy sofa with a paper.
The relaxation doesn’t stop there; if you need to freshen up you can take a shower, or indulge in a pre-holiday treatment or massage at the on-site spa. You can even book a bedroom if you are looking to catch up on your beauty sleep.
